Frequently Asked Questions
Why don’t you use vinegar in your products?
We make our pickles the old fashioned way, without the use of vinegar. Not only does this approach offer a subtler, more umami flavor, it also provides tremendous health benefits.
Is vinegar bad for you?
Nope! But fermented pickles are better for you and who would we be to deny you the very best. You deserve it.
How do you make a vinegar-free pickle?
We begin with our blend of veggies and spices, add a salt water brine, then let the magic happen! Over time, the interaction allows the formation of live cultures that give fermented foods their signature sour-savory flavor. This process is known as lactobacillus fermentation.
What are the benefits of eating fermented foods?
How much time do you have? In all seriousness, the benefits of fermented foods are wide-ranging. Studies have linked eating fermented foods to increased immunity, reduced risk of Parkinson’s and Colorectal Cancer and improved mental health, skin and circulation. They are loaded with electrolytes, minerals and Vitamins A, C, and K. They also increase the biovavailability of foods, meaning they allow your body to better absorb nutrients — both in fermented foods and the foods you consume with them.
